You HAVE to have this!

So, I recently quit a linkshell that I had really hoped would be one that I could stick with. The people are, for the most part, pretty cool. Willing to help, cooperative and motivated.

I would say things have been fairly good the past couple weeks that I've been a member. I attend the events I can, I help out where I can and things just flow. I'm was on the DKP as a part time member, but to be honest, there wasn't really anything I needed or wanted the shell to help me with. It was a shell I could be in and just enjoy myself when I'm available.

Well, all good things must come to an end it seems. Last night we went to do Dynamis - Qufim. The leader asked what jobs everyone had available, etc. etc.

Now for those of you who don't know (I.E. have never done anything with me), my only job for the past seven or so years has been PLD. It's my best geared job, it's the job I play best and in my opinion, it's the most versatile job in the game. Yesterday morning, I had leveled up Blue Mage the rest of the way to 99. My blue magic skill is a little behind, but nothing too horrible. It's hovering right around 300. I spent the rest of the day working on spells and got a fair amount of them, catching me up to where I should be.

Anyways, this is what happens:

Leader: Alerith, come PLD
Alerith: Arighty
Leader: Sub DNC
Alerith: I don't have /DNC
Member: lol say what?

The leader has me come BLU/RDM, which is perfectly fine with me. My special weaponskill is stronger on BLU than it is on PLD. But now, my choice of subjobs is now the hot topic of the shell and I'm getting blasted by one member in particular.

"You NEED to have dancer. If you don't, you're not being as efficient as possible and you're dragging the group down."

Aright, first of all, No. I don't need dancer. In fact, since DNC has been released, I've done perfectly fine without it. /RDM has yet to fail me, and I've had no reason or desire to level dancer. Telling me that I HAVE to have it is telling me how to spend my play time.

The leader, while her intentions good, didn't help by saying (to HIM) "Don't worry. We'll get them done by the end of this week."

Excuse me? You're telling someone else how I'll be spending my time and playing the game later this week? I don't think so.

Also, my mistake for letting anyone know that I had leveled BLU. The moment that was out in the open, I could feel my Paladin getting shoved to the bench, and that simply isn't going to happen.

So once again, my faith in linkshells has been put down because people are more worried about maximum efficiency over some fun.

If you want to rant about how I'm not performing as efficiently as possible, have at it. Your advice means nothing to me because in the end, I have fun and I still succeed, even without your "requirements".
